Looking for a fun activity to do as a family in these cold winter months?

Try a Family Swim at Goldfish Swim School!

There are lots of great reasons why you should take your family to a Family Swim at Goldfish SS but here are my Top 5.

1. It’s a lot of fun!
The water is always a warm 90 degrees at Goldfish SS and your child will surely love the fact that you are in the water with them. There is no structure to family swim time so you are free to do as you please with your family. During family swim the normal lane dividers in the pool are gone so you are able to move around much more freely. The swimming platforms stay in the pool so your kids can practice their skills and show off what they’ve learned in their weekly swim lessons. They also provide all kinds of fun toys to play with and offer life jackets for the little swimmers who haven’t mastered swimming quite yet.  Swimming as a family is a great way to bond as well. They also have a small play area available if you have a little one who isn’t a huge fan of the water yet.

2. Kids can show off their new skills.
What better way for your child to show off their newly learned swim skills than with you in the pool with them.  My boys have been taking swim lessons for about 4 months now, Tucker is in the Junior 1 class so I or his dad are always in the pool with him, but Mikey takes his lessons with just an instructor so he absolutely loves getting time in the pool with us as a family.  Tucker has just about mastered the sea otter float and loves floating around on his back with his head on one of our shoulders.  Mikey is getting a lot more comfortable with putting his whole head underwater and loves to show me and his dad his Superman glide.

3. You don’t have to be a member to partake!
Haven’t enrolled in swim lessons at Goldfish yet? Not a problem! Non-members are welcome too (just make sure you call ahead to reserve your spot). Family Swim time is a great way to introduce your child to the water and you’ll be able to check out Goldfish Swim School and see exactly what everyone has been talking about. All you need to bring is a towel and your swimsuit and you are ready to have a fun time with the whole family.

4. It’s a great way to get your kids more comfortable in the water.
If you’ve been considering signing up for lessons but aren’t sure how comfortable your child will be in the water family swims are a great opportunity to warm them up to the pool and the Goldfish environment. You’ll also get the chance to meet some of the incredible staff at Goldfish who make the experience for kids so much fun and a lot less scary. Teaching children water safety at a young age is truly a life-saving skill.

5. Goldfish provides everything you need.
If you’re worried about the cold weather outside, don’t be. Goldfish provides showers, changing rooms and even a blow-dry bar to make sure you and your family are ready to head back outside after your family swim. You can also buy goodies at their snack shack, and they have a great pro shop if you want to purchase googles or forgot to bring a reusable swim diaper for your little one.
