Simple Christmas Ornament Craft

This week we had some fun making easy toddler friendly ornaments for our tree. Supplies were pretty simple and were all items had on hand.

Supplies Included:

  • Scissors
  • Brown construction paper
  •  Glue
  • Gingerbread man cookie cutter
  • Anything you want to decorate with.
(We used jingle bells and pom poms that I had on hand, but the skies the limit.)
  • A hole punch to hang your ornament.
  • Googley eyes
  • Ribbon
  • A pen

First I traced the gingerbread man and cut him out.  I helped my toddlers with gluing the eyes in place and let them decorate however they choose.

Mikey, who’s almost 3, really loved the freedom to decorate and was pretty good at getting his balls to stick.

If you want to switch it up a bit turn your gingerbread man over and make him a reindeer. I used a red bell to make Tucker a Rudolph ornament.

Tucker is a few months shy of 2 and had a blast coloring and decorating his reindeer.  (When he wasn’t trying to eat the crayons that is)

When you are done decorating just use a hole puncher or scissors to make a hole and tie some ribbon to it.
Now you are ready to hang your ornaments!
