Blogger Recognition Award

Blogger Recognition Award

I am so honored and extremely excited to announce my first award!

I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by The Mom’s Life Cycle.

The Blogger Recognition Award is given to bloggers by other bloggers to show appreciation for all the hard work they have put into their blog.  Because take it from me, starting a blog and really getting it out there for people to see is hard work and a little scary too.

First of all, I’d like to give a big thank you to Sella, at for nominating my blog.  I am truly honored to accept this recognition.  If you haven’t checked out her blog yet you totally should!

Her blog features DIY, crafting, travel and everyday adventures in parenting.  She was born in Indonesia but is currently living in France.  I don’t know about you, but I love reading about how mothers from all over the world in all different walks of life can still relate to the common journey of motherhood.

How/Why I Started Blogging

I originally started blogging back in 2015 when my family moved to Columbus, Ohio, away from all our friends and family in Florida.  At the time my boys were one and 3 months old and I wanted a way to share our adventures with all our friends and family.  Thus, Adventures of Mike and Tuck was born.

From there I realized I had a real passion for lifestyle photography and sharing our stories.  I also loved connecting with other moms and relating on all the different joys, trials and challenges of motherhood.  I decided in May 2017, that I wanted to try to turn this blog into a business that could help provide for my family as well as help other women along their journey of motherhood and Chaos in Motherhood came to life.

On my blog, I still share our family adventures but now I also share more of my life and journey through motherhood.  I also love sharing products that make our lives easier as well as things that I just can’t live without.

My Advice for New Bloggers

The best advice I can give to someone who is thinking about starting a blog is to just start writing.  Don’t put off to tomorrow something you can start today.  (Advice I should be giving myself on a daily basis.) If you’re not sure how to start the process, check out How to Start a Blog for a step by step guide on starting your blog.

If you’ve already started your blog, don’t get discouraged.  It takes time to get yourself out there and it takes hard work and dedication to really start making something.  The best way to start getting some traction on your blog is to find your Tribe, a group of other bloggers who will help support you, and answer questions you may have along the way.  I started my own Facebook group the Mom Blog Tribe and if you are serious about getting your blog out there you should totally join.  I know I wouldn’t be where I am today with out the support of all the lovely ladies in my tribe.

  1. Congratulations, again, and thank you so much for choosing to nominate my blog, I love your story of why you started blogging, it is much similar to my own. I love that you started in one place and then broadened your horizons, something that I have been debating. It can be hard to start with one purpose and find yourself wanting to expand into other things as well. I think my biggest concern is losing supporters. It can be hard to juggle, at least for me, staying true to my blogs’ original purpose and venturing into possibly turning it into a business, I have an eight year old and a hardworking husband, who need me and I would love more than anything to make a career or something to help my husband out. It is hard when your the only person working, so I want to do more with my blog to help him out. I would love to know more about how you accomplished it. I can’t explain the work or difficulty that comes with blogging, on the surface when you start it just seems like writing, which doesn’t sound too hard, but it is truly so much more. Thank you for the FB group recommendation, I am actually a member of the group already, but I agree it is a great place for new bloggers to go. The blogging community has been very supportive. Well, I don’t want to chat your ear off (LOL), because I will, but again thank you so much for this award nomination. I truly am grateful and appreciative. 🙂 -Laila
